First German student chosen for Space School 2013

Victoria Böth has been chosen to represent Treysa, Germany at the United Space School 2013. Only one student from the area can receive the honor of joining classes in Houston, Texas this summer. Victoria’s final essay covered aspects of life on Mars from a medical perspective, and convinced the jury that she was the best candidate of the six finalists.

According to the physics teacher who coordinates the contest, only  “scientifically talented students who are particularly gifted” can participate. In fact all of the finalists receive a small prize of varying value, and are also awarded credit toward their diplomas.

The competition is made possible by Stadtsparkasse Treysa, who pay for the student’s travel and study expenses.
